Rebuilding Team Connection
After a Major Internal Transition
How a series of experiential events helped a newly formed team build genuine connections and a stronger team culture.

The Challenge
After a major internal transition, the company found itself with an almost entirely new team.
Many long-time employees had left, and new colleagues joined within a short period of time.
The HR team wanted to:
• help employees get to know each other
• rebuild trust and connection
• create natural team interaction beyond daily work
Rather than organising a traditional team-building activity, the objective was to design experiences that would allow people to interact naturally and build authentic relationships.

THE STRATEGY
Instead of traditional team-building activities, the events were designed around a simple principle:
everyone should discover something new together.
When people experience something unfamiliar, hierarchy and professional roles temporarily disappear. Everyone becomes a beginner, which naturally encourages collaboration, curiosity and conversation.
To support this objective, we designed two complementary events, each creating a different type of interaction within the team.

Team Cohesion Conference & Curling Experience
The first event combined structured reflection and shared discovery.
The day began with a conference focused on team cohesion, where participants explored topics such as communication, collaboration and how to build stronger relationships within a newly formed team. This session helped create a common understanding of the team dynamics and challenges following the internal transition. After the conference, participants were introduced to curling, an activity that almost none of them had experienced before. Because everyone was discovering the activity at the same time, hierarchy naturally disappeared. The shared challenge created a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere where colleagues could interact in a completely new way.
A full-day experience outside the office designed to encourage informal interaction and team connection. Through creative activities such as
a graffiti workshop and a cooking class, employees collaborated, discovered new skills, and connected in a relaxed atmosphere.
Both activities placed employees in situations where everyone was learning and creating together, encouraging natural conversations and new
team dynamics.

The Results
After the events, the atmosphere inside the company changed noticeably.
Employees who previously interacted only through work began spending more time together outside the office.
New friendships and informal connections started to form.
HR Feedback
“It’s amazing. Now people go out for beers together on Fridays. They’re not just interacting in the office anymore - they spend time together outside of work. That’s exactly what I was hoping for.”
